What were David's shortcomings as a father? (2 Samuel 12-19)
Key verse
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept. As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! If only I had died instead of you-O Absalom, my son, my son!" 2 Samuel 18:33
Reminder
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Reading the Bible this way helps us to see how CONTEMPORARY the Bible really is. Have you started applying any of the insights from your reading to your daily living?
Encouragement
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"When I study the Bible, I prepare myself to talk to others. When I read the Bible, God talks to me."
D.L. Moody
This post made me think of my shortcomings as a mom! We do our best, but clearly we are still a work in progress. If there was hope for David...there is hope for me.
Blessings,
andrea
