Update on Dad - Prayers Needed

Since he had minor surgery a week and a half ago for the dyalisis implant he has experieneced few symptoms and side effects. One of the biggest is swelling. He has swollen so much he has nearly put on close to 10 lbs in less then a few days. That may not seem like alot but his skin is stretching tight from all the swelling that is cutting his circulation off some as well as causing some breathing complications. Today he went in for his check up from surgery and physical state.

They ran some testing on him and found out he is retaining alot of water through out his body including in his kidneys. This is extremely dangerous and bad news for him. He is holding up right now about as good as me in some cases. But he is hiding alot of emotion as well. I love my father and know him better then anyone in our family including his own mother. He will only open up with me. Right now he is afraid of dying. I sense that more and more as I am with him. He knows of the Lord, He talks to him, but he has no relationship. He has a Catholic background but has not done church in so long. I think really the last time he was in church was 12 years ago before my brother died.

My dad has the attitude of, "He wants to live forever and never die." So I know he struggles with finding his way to Christ. Please continue to keep us all in prayers and that he will find his way to God before his time here is up. Thank you everyone. I am so glad God pulled all you blogging buddies into my life. You are all a true blessing from God. :)

I don't know what else to add to my first comment, but I wanted you to know that I just read this and my heart is breaking for your father. He sounds like a very dear, precious man and you are such a sweet daughter...My prayers go out to you both. ((Hugs))
