El Shaddai
"The All-Sufficient One"
Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst;
but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.
~ John 4:14
When Abram first heard the name, it put him flat on his face. It was a most appropraite place to meet God Almighty. It was a most appropriate moment for God to reveal Himself as El Shaddai.
When Abram was ninety-one years old, the Lord appeard to Abram and said to him,
"I am God Almighty [El Shaddai]; Walk before Me, and be blameless. And I will establish my covenant between Me and you. And I will multiply you exceedingly."And Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,
"As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, And you shall be the father of a multitude of nations. And I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come forth from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. And I will give to you and to your descendants after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession and I will be their God,"When God appeared to Abram, Abram fell on his face. What did God say to him?
"I am God Almighty... I am El Shaddai. Walk before Me, and be blameless, and I will establish My covenant with you."
In other words, God is saying here, "I am your all sufficient One." Quit running. Quit hiding. Quit seeking other ways. Trust in Me. Rest in Me. Let Me supply your needs.
"When I have run to Him, I have never come away wanting.
He is my El Shaddai, my all-sufficent One."
He held me through.......
For a moment, I encourage each beloved reader today to think back on what God has held you through? What are you going through this very moment, that He is holding you through?
He said, Trust in Me, Rest in Me, Let Me supply all your needs! Beloved, what ever you are going through right now, He is calling out to you to place it all in His hands, and trust in Him that He will pull you through. He wants you to find rest in Him, knowing that He will supply you very need.
I encourage you to take a moment and examine yourself thoroughly, wait upon Him to show you the areas He wants you to intrust to Him. From there I encouarge you to go before Him and surrender it all over in to His hands and lay in His rest from there.
Blessings!
