We left off in the last post discussing: How much Water consumption we need, Tap Water and why it is not good to drink? [Keep in mind - There is so much to cover, I gurantee we will have to carry some of this over in to a final post [part 3] so please bare with me as I post.] In this post we will begin to wrap up on Reverse Osmosis, Fileter Systems, Cartridges/filters, the Brands of water and which is best.
Bottle water is everywhere. Over the last several years we have found out that plastics in general, ARE NOT SAFE! So to get good drinking water, it is best drinking from a glass bottle. However, if you must drink from a plastic bottle, you will want to keep your eyes on the label. It is highly recommended that the bottle be thrown out after the first use, do not reuse the plastic bottle. You will learn why as I continue to finalize on WATER.
Reverse Osmosis [is a liquid filtration method for removing many types of large atomic molecules from smaller molecules, by forcing the liquid at high pressure through a membrane with pores (holes) just big enough to allow the small molecules to pass through.] and Filtration systems: Like distilled waters the reverse osmosis is an [Astitic Water distiller] and is a slow filtration processor. It removes virtually everything from water; heavy metals like lead and mercury, pestacides, chlorine, flouride, bacteria, parasites, and chemicals. Water it produces is similar to distilled water. 95 % mineral free and acidic water and therefore 'agressive'- meaning it pulls minerals from anything with which in comes in contact with. Because the water is acidic it may keep your tissues acidic. Reverse osmosis and using water distillers [filtration systems] are not bad at all to use. In fact they both make the purest water to drink. A good idea to those drinking water from either of these systems it to replace the lost minerals by drinking Alkalined water or eat alakine food. [More below] Drinking using these systems are fine, however, there are few things to know about these filtration water filters/cartridges.
Water distillers - are extremely effective at removing everything, unfortunately removing even the good minerals. Distillers use electricity and heat the water to boiling point, separating impurities from the 'steam' which becomes your drinking water. The only draw back is the eliminating of all the good minerals. Studies show systems eliminating all the good minerals is worse for your body than water dissolved minerals. A good water distiller canremove heavy metals, pesticides, herbacides, organic compounds, bacteria and some viruses.
Carbon filters - are the "entry level" filters: inexpensive, reliable and common. They come in many forms from a base model water filtering to a pitcher that costs around $20.00, to a faucet mounted system. Some use a full home filtration system, others use reverse osmosis system [which is under the counter system].
2 types of carbon filters: A granulated charcoal and a solid carbon block. Solid block filter costs more and lasts longer doing a much better job filtering microorgnaisims. Only disadvantage is that the flow rate is slower then with the loose charcoal filters. A pitcher filter uses granulated charcoal filter and removes most chlorinine and up to 90% of the lead. However many toxins are NOT filtered out. For some people this is the best filter to use- if the alternative is to use no filter. There are drawbacks to ALL carbon filters. Carbon filters are not totally effective for heavy metals, they dont remove flouride, viruses, pharmaceuticals or personal care products. Also if the filters are not changed out when instrcutions called for, they can be more of a hazard then a help. Old filters collect 'the' garbage in the water and may acutally begin to breed bacteria. Choosing a carbon filter can remove some but not all of the impurities.
Alkaline water filters - Our body thrives on off an alkaline enviroment, since it is able to to detoxify more efficiently then in an acidic enviroment. [ Alkaline vs acidic - Alkaline enviroment is the condition of water or soil which contains a sufficient amount of alkali substance to raise the pH above 7.0. Acidic enviroment is our body, made up with stress, toxins, the more acidic our body is makes is easier for cancer cells to thrive.] In an alkaline enviroment our tissues get rid of impurities more efficiently. [Dr. Colbert notes that when his cancer patients would come in to his office for nutritional treatments, their bodies were more acidic and full of toxins then usual. So his first task is to get their tissues Alkalined with alkaline water and foods. Alkalinity and acidity is measured in terms of PH. On a ph scale of 1-14, a 7.0 is considered neutral. Anything under 7.0 is acidic, anything over 7.0 is alkaline. Blood has a constant ph of 7.4 - its alkaline. Most of our bodies tissue is acidic - as indicated w/ a urnine test.] Too find out what foods are alkaline you can the noted link to get more information : http://www.ctds.info/acidic-foods.html To do an acidic test and find out your ph can you get an over the counter urination test that has a coloring coded card inside to show you how acidic your body is.]
Join me again as I finalize this series on WATER in the next and hope to be last post. ;).
Blessings!

Sometimes, I have trouble posting a comment here. I hate it when that happens. Hope you are doing well.
